Award Nominees!

🎉 We are honoured to share the news that…. we have been #nominated for TWO Yorkshire Choice Awards

‪- Sporting a Achievement of the Year 🚴🏼‍♂‍
‪- Local Fundraiser💙

‪Thank you to everyone who has supported our journey – cycling 1300 miles from #londontorome for Yorkshire Cancer Research

We cannot believe that we have been nominated for any awards, let alone two. This was an idea that was to raise funds for an incredible charity, cycling was a challenge and the figure raised is phenomenal.

#WOW

We have just hit £8500…. we are so grateful for your support. The most recent donation is a combination of generous customers at The Roundhill in Rastrick!

Including Gift Aid we are currently sitting at £9726.84 (£8508.10 without Gift Aid) and this is absolutely insane. We started with a target of £5000, to get surpass this target by such a landslide means the world to us.

The challenge of cycling from London to Rome was completed on the 27th October, its incredible that we are still recieving donations 2 weeks later. THANK YOU

Yorkshire Cancer Research helps the people of Yorkshire avoid, survive and cope with cancer. They are the only charity dedicated to addressing specific cancer problems in Yorkshire, by funding research projects right here in our region. Working  to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Yorkshire so that you, your family, friends and neighbours will have the very best chance of living a long and healthy life. It’s only by working in the heart of our communities that we will learn more about the problems that exist in Yorkshire and find solutions to tackle them.

ROME

Sorry for the absence… we have been enjoying a few days R&R in our lovely villa and getting back to ‘normal’ after 17 days cycling.

We are totally overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends, family and businesses. Our initial target of £5000 was high, but we have hit £7000!! How insane?! THANK YOU!

If you head to our Twitter and Facebook, you will see how you can get your hands on a Signed HTAFC Shirt from the Premier League Season 2018/19. It is a silent auction that ends next Wednsday 6th November.

Donations are still coming in; www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ti-konki-challenge for anyone that hasn’t spared a penny yet (or wants to help support the guys get the car home!)

We want to give a special shout out to Walkers Jewellery who helped Hazel create a special broach to commemorate the journey the cyclists made – they have made the Ti-Konki logo that Paul designed, in Silver from 1954… how incredible?

DAY SEVENTEEN

Lake Bolsena….. to ROME!

We made it! on day 17, a day earlier than scheduled, we completed the 1300 mile cycle from London to Rome. It has been a crazy journey, with punctures, falls, crashes and the worst weather!

We have raised 30% over our initial target, and we could not have done this without our families, friends, businesses and people who have seen the message on various outlets

Thank you so much for your support.

Donations are still LIVE –> www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ti-konki-challenge

DAY SIXTEEN

Siena -> Radicofani…. and we even went further, to Lake Bolsena!

We could have made it slightly further, if it hadn’t been for an unplanned puncture stop.

The views are amazing, the weather is beautiful, and now only 120km until we reach Rome! We are a massive 30% above our initial target, making our current total at £6500! A massive thank you to our sponsors, family, friends, businesses and everyone who has sent a good luck message!

Keep sharing our story – www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ti-konki-challenge

DAY THIRTEEN & FOURTEEN

Wednesday and Thursday saw us head from Savona -> Rapallo -> Pisa. It has been a very long few days and the weather was pretty grim! Colne Valley has nothing on the torrential rain we saw from Rapallo to Pisa.

Day 13 was the day of road closures and a never ending Genova, we were glad to make it to Rapallo in time to watch the HTAFC match in a bar. #TerriersInItaly

Day 14 included rain, more rain, and more rain… minimal photo’s from this day (but the drowned look does not go well on bikes!)

Journey so far…

Today marks, DAY 13… so we figured we would start by showing you how far we have made it, in a visual term!

With a massive 25% over our target of £5000 raised as well, we would like to give a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored, supported and donated to the worthy cause. Yorkshire Cancer Research are doing incredible things, and we appreciate our family, friends, businesses who have helped us fundraise.

Cheers, from Savona to our followers! (With cornetto’s and Peroni’s)
