Fire on Marsden Moor

Standedge Road is a regular route on our cycle rides but today we gave it a miss as eleven crews from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were trying to control a fire covering about 3 sq km of land.
The fire on Marsden Moor is believed to have been started by a barbecue at Easter Gate, the National Trust said.

Another beautiful day for cycling, nice early start 7.00am!! Same route as yesterday adding another 4 miles at the end Isle of Sky down to The Ford Pub, Upperthong, Netherthong, Dean House, Honley, Netherton then back to Linthwaite 30 miles.

And after……..Wessenden Head on a beautiful day for cycling 26 miles . Early start heading to Marsden, Uppermill, Greenfield, Dovestone’s, Wessenden, Meltham and back to Linthwaite

17 days without a beer, over 140 miles already cycled, not sure how many lengths swimming…….
